I do not have any picture of the current observation and involvement I am doing with the school I am at, because I did not get the parents approval. I am however doing lots of things with the current students I am observing as well as doing the Student Service Hours. I am doing my observation and Service Learning at Mesita ECDC, I am at the ECDC classroom, which is a mixture of students who have learning disabilities, as well as speech impediments, some have hearing or visual impairments. The first thing I did was read to the students and asking them question, they were all intrigued with me and sat extremely close to me. They love when I draw with them and help them glue. I have gone with them to lunch several times, and some of the students want me to baby feed them or cut up their food, I do what they ask but the instructional aides think I am “babying” them because they can do it themselves. I have helped on of the instructional aides complete a center with a group of students, they were each making and acting like a specific farm animal and I would help them do the movements as well as the noises. I have also gone to play with them in the playground, the students want me to carry them, and swing them, help them up the stairs. There is a set of twins that hardly ever speak, they always want me to hold their hand or hug them constantly even at the carpet. The twins make me follow them everywhere. The last day that I went was this Wednesday and the ECDC received a new student and she was crying and I helped comfort her and calmed her down while her parents were leaving the room.
